Description
PIR sensor for luminaires and plafonds
PIR microwave presence detectors are designed to reduce the amount of time lighting is left on unnecessarily, for example if an area is unoccupied or if there is sufficient natural light. A presence detector monitors the detection zone for occupancy, using radio waves in the microwave band (5.8 GHz) if a person is sensed then the detector will automatically turn the lighting on. When the area is vacated, the lighting will turn off after a preset time delay. Microwave sensors have a built in light level (lux) sensor which will keep the lighting off if there is enough natural light available. Controlling lighting with a presence detector can save up to 60% of lighting energy costs dependent on occupancy behavior and the amount of natural light available; microwave sensors can also be used to control ventilation.
As this detector uses microwaves, detection is possible through plastic, glass and thin walls such as office partitions. It will not detect movement through brick, concrete or metal.
Function:
Can identify day and night: It can work in the daytime and at night when it is adjusted on the “sun” position (max). It can work in the ambient light less than 3LUX when it is adjusted on the “3” position (min). As for the adjustment pattern, please refer to the testing pattern.
Sens Adjustable:
It can be adjusted according to using location. The detection distance of low sensitivity could be only 2m and high sensitivity could be 16m which fits for large room.
Time-Delay is added continually:
When it receives the second induction signals within the first induction, it will restart to time from the moment.
Some problems and solutions:
The load don’t work: Check the power and the load.
Whether the indicator light is turned on after sensing? If yes, please check load.
If the indicator light is not on after sensing, please check if the working light corresponds to the ambient light.
Please check if the working voltage corresponds to the power source.
The sensitivity is poor: Please check if in front of the sensor there shouldn’t be obstructive object that
Test:
- Affect to receive the signals.
- Please check if the signal source is in the detection fields.
- Turn the LUX knob clockwise
- Please check the installation height.
- On the maximum (sun), Turn the SENS knob clockwise on
- The sensor can’t shut automatically the load:
- The maximum (+). Turn the a. If there are continual signals in the detection fields.
- TIME knob anti-clockwise on b. If the time delay is set to the longest.
- The minimum (10s).
- If the power corresponds to the instruction.
